This week saw the finishing touches applied to a new network installation at 42 Castle Street barristers office in Liverpool.
Before installation of the network barristers had just a single 'back room' computer with Internet access from which to perform online research etc. However, this room also contained a number of older computers with no Internet or printing ability - they were merely used for occasional work processing.
The objective was to connect all computers to the network so they could gain Internet access, as well as allowing shared access to common resources such as network printers etc. After a careful assessment of these older computers, together with existing infrastructure Canto Technologies provided a proposal on a way forward at minimum cost.
Network cabling was installed by a Canto I.T subcontractor, after which our engineers visited the site equipped with the remaining hardware and set up both the local-area network and shared printing. At the same time two of the older computers were upgraded to make them both usable and secure, given the Internet connection.
